About You

As an Administrator, you will bring to the role:


  • Ability to sort, analyse and evaluate information relevant to the SEN statutory assessment and review processes.
  • A keen eye for detail, with the ability to organise and prioritise own work.
  • Have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and recognise the importance of confidentiality.
  • Be proactive, able to think ahead and work on your own initiative with the ability to adhere to timescales.
  • Have good communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and develop strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience.
  • Awareness of the Children and Families Act, SEND Code or Practice and High Needs Funding Guidance.


About The Role

The SEND Funding team is responsible for allocation of funding for individual children and young people who have learning difficulties and disabilities . The role includes processing and updating information about children and young people onto various IT systems, as well as communicating directly with internal and external partners, settings and families.

Job Description

Job purpose

To provide support to the SEND Funding Coordinators in all areas of the funding process for children with EHC Plans and SEND Inclusion Funding and assisting in SEND monitoring and accountability processes.

Our staff use a range of computer programmes and systems to support services which include those working with teams based across the council in a number of different administration roles.

Responsibilities


  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, scanning, cash handling, photocopying, mail handling, diary management and arranging meetings.
  • Knowledge and experience of adhering to procedures and legislation relating to confidential information.
  • Work flexibly and move within service areas working at different locations depending on service demand.
  • Willing to abide by the Council Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies.
  • Willing to actively participate in training and development activities to ensure up to date knowledge, skills and continuous professional development.

  • Business and Information Technology skills.

Skills Required


  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including face-to-face, telephone and written communication skills.
  • Work with multiple teams of staff and contribute to its development with suggestions for new ways of working.
  • Able to work on your own and use your initiative to adhere to timescales and deadlines.
  • Experience in the use of IT applications and systems (including experience using Microsoft Office applications) to be able to accurately record and retrieve information.
  • An understanding of the importance of providing excellent customer services and dealing positively with challenging situations.


Knowledge Required


  • A knowledge and understanding of the Company and Leeds City Council.
  • A knowledge of a wide range of computerised applications including Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and PowerPoint.
