Field Service Engineer – CNC Machine Tools

We’re looking for a highly skilled field service engineer to join a leading name in the CNC machine tool sector. This role is primarily focused on machine installation and commissioning, ensuring customers experience a seamless setup and optimal machine performance. You'll also provide ongoing service and maintenance support, helping to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. If you have a strong mechanical and electrical background, experience working with CNC or industrial machinery, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, this could be a great opportunity.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission CNC machine tools at customer sites, ensuring full functionality and compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues during installation and in-service calls.
• Provide operator training and technical guidance, ensuring customers can effectively use and maintain their machines.
• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimise installation processes and improve overall service efficiency.

• £45,000 - £53,000 per annum (depending on experience)

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in field service, installation, or commissioning of CNC machine tools or complex industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, including servo drives, PLCs, and control systems.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage workloads efficiently, and build strong customer relationships.
• Willingness to travel within the designated region with occasional overnight stays.
