Salary: £65,385 - £79,915
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our above offices.

We're looking for a dynamic, motivated, forward-thinking Data Manager to join the team. You'll focus on supporting the business to deliver phenomenal solutions to customers by knowing that the underlying data is well handled, accurate and trusted, building the foundation for AI and future technology applications.

What you'll be doing:
- Collaborating with the platform to embed data ownership and producer and consumer accountabilities, improving data roles and responsibilities to ensure understanding, accuracy and efficacy in the platform through data strategy implementation and improvement initiatives.
- Implementing best practice and tooling to define and manage business rules, data quality, master data and metadata. Ensuring appropriate data quality management is in place, during run and change activity, including issue identification, logging, route cause analysis and processes for resolution.
- Define and manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs), following established governance processes, standardising metadata management and data quality controls.
- Drive enhancements to data literacy across the General Insurance platform by promoting awareness of data usage practices, privacy standards, and governance frameworks, while collaborating closely with the Data Centre of Excellence, 2nd line risk and audit teams
- Support data migrations to new platforms and data product build, ensuring smooth transitions, data integrity and promoting data by design

What you'll need:
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, policies, regulations and finance industry standards (e.g., GDPR, BCBS239, SOX) and how they relate to data governance and data quality. With practical experience of running training and education programmes across large organisations.
- Familiarity with data classification, metadata management, and data access governance to secure sensitive data
- Hands on experience of data management tooling including Collibra, Ataccama and other Data Management toolkits.
- Understanding and practical application of data management controls in Cloud.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in data governance, data management, or a related role.
- Superb communication and facilitation skills, being able to work with and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
