Job Summary
This is a Permanent contract, Full-time position ideal for someone who is already in a Business Analyst role and wanting to move into a global organization.
In this role you are the link between the business objectives and core technological capabilities the team is building. This is a great opportunity to actively collaborate with other departments and stakeholders within a large organisation and the challenges this involves in a fast moving business environment.
You will join a dynamic, experienced and diverse team led by a manager who has been with Farnell for over 20 years.
This is a flexible, hybrid working role giving you the work life balance to work from home and from the office. You will be able to manage your own diary in regard to on-site office time in Leeds, but will be required to be on-site minimum 3 days.

- As a Business Analyst, you are the link between the business objectives and core technological capabilities the team is building. Your goal is to drive organized and effective requirements to build the product and will be responsible for utilizing creative and practical thinking to translate requirements into direct improvements. Furthermore:
- You will support visioning activities to help shape and clarify an initiative – its objectives, scope, potential solution options and its impact on the business – on our systems, processes & customers
- Communicate with the business to understand their needs using MoSCoW to identify priorities and urgency.
- Produce written documentation to support your work including but not exclusive to wireframes, Gherkin specifications, and process diagrams to support a program of work within an Agile environment or functional specification documents within an Waterfall environment (where applicable)
- Create epic and low-level user stories complete with acceptance criteria.
- Identify the impact that functional changes will have on the business and support in managing and communicating to the business to ensure successful implementation of change.
- Identify non-functional requirements for each detailed user story and ensure requirements are met to the prescribed support standard.
- Collaborative approach to working with developers, architects, the Data Management Team and subject matter experts alike, to establish the facts, and ensure good communication of requirements.
- Interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, managers, and subject matter experts, building positive and productive relationships
- Actively identify risks, issues and dependencies, escalating upwards to ensure appropriate risk mitigation (as appropriate).
- You are a creative and practical thinker who can to translate requirements into direct improvements. You have a passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas and empower others to fail, learn, and grow. More specifically:
- You have 2+ years of experience with B2B digital products
- You are experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
- You are experienced in facilitating definition workshops, gathering detailed business systems requirements and creating functional requirement specifications
- You are able to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap with development teams and stakeholders
- You can quickly learn industry trends / domains and end user demands from pain points
- You are a strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress
- You have the ability to deal with ambiguity, are able to absorb large amounts of information and identify the key points
