We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Development Underwriter to join the Underwriting team at Victor. This role will be based in our Leeds office however hybrid working due to the successful candidate being expected to spend time across various locations whilst providing on site underwriting to our brokers.

As an Agricultural Development Underwriter, you’ll dive into a diverse array of underwriting activities and broker development, focusing on our Farm Combined and Farm Motor products. You’ll be at the forefront of executing our company strategy, playing a pivotal role in achieving our financial goals while delivering exceptional customer service. Your expertise will shine as you manage key agricultural broker accounts, ensuring they receive top-notch service and support.
We will rely on you to:
- Shape Our Strategy: Contribute to and implement our underwriting strategy across all products, aligning with our established risk appetite.
- Drive Financial Success: Directly impact our financial KPIs by balancing revenue growth with underwriting profitability.
- Deliver Excellence: Uphold Victor’s service standards on all authorized products, ensuring Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is woven into our culture.
- Spot Trends: Analyse distribution trends and broker behaviours to inform our strategies.
- Build Relationships: At Victor, we pride ourselves on cultivating strong, in-person relationships with our brokers. Your presence in the field is crucial as you engage directly with them, fostering trust and collaboration that drives mutual success.
- Enhance Quality: Manage quality assurance and peer reviews to identify opportunities for underwriting and product improvements.
- Stay Informed: Keep abreast of market trends and developments in your industry segments, building strong relationships with capacity partners.
- Grow Your Skills: Take charge of your personal technical and skill set progression while collaborating closely with our sales team to implement our distribution strategy.
What you need to have:
- A solid understanding of the commercial insurance market.
- Proven experience in Agricultural Underwriting with a history of holding underwriting authority.
- Knowledge of our in-scope products and trade range.
- A track record of successful teamwork and delivering results.

- Progress towards a CII qualification or equivalent experience is a plus.
