The Role
As a result of growth, we are now recruiting several Corporate Tax Seniors to join our Tax Consultancy Service Line based at our growing Leeds office.
As part of the role you'll prepare tax returns and accounts for our audit clients and work on a variety of advisory projects and corporate finance work such as sales and acquisitions. You'll also attend client meetings and conduct Teams calls, helping you build strong relationships.
You'll have the opportunity to develop and enhance your leadership capabilities by overseeing graduate trainees, delegating tasks and developing your reviewing and managerial skills. We encourage team members to participate in graduate recruitment days and attend young professional events. The main elements of this role will include:
- Taking responsibility for the preparation, completion and submission of tax computations on a varied portfolio of clients
- Supporting clients with their ongoing compliance needs
- Assisting with the preparation of Research and Development Tax Credit claims
- Identifying planning and advisory opportunities from a compliance portfolio and supporting the manager and partner/ director group in taking these forwards
- Liaising with clients and HM Revenue & Customs as and when appropriate. This could include visits to client premises to prepare tax computations
- Having involvement with and being responsible for the other annual filing obligations (such as Employment Related Securities Filings / Non Resident Landlord Scheme etc)
- Dealing with adhoc corporation tax queries from the wider firm when required
- Supporting Tax trainees in the team to help them develop their knowledge and complete tasks
The Candidate
In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:
- ATT qualified as a minimum but ideally, have completed already, or be in the process of completing the CTA qualification
- A full driving licence (desirable)
- Corporate tax compliance experience for a minimum of 2 years
- Experience of using Alphatax (desirable)
- Some advisory knowledge and experience in identifying advisory opportunities
- Experienced in dealing with clients and ensuring they receive an outstanding level of customer service
- Confident when communicating (in both verbal and written forms) because you will need to be able to deal directly with clients and ensure they receive an outstanding level of customer service
