Project Manager - Utilities has overall responsibility for the successful initiation, design, planning, delivery, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of all projects. The Project manager –Utilities is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective communication, instruction and leadership to all levels of the operational team. The Project Manager will be responsible for considering all aspects of time, cost, quality and safety throughout the concept, planning, delivery and close out phases of projects.



  • Receiving and dealing with new enquires/contracts from their initiation through to project completion this includes but is not limited to the successful initiation, design, planning, selection and leadership of teams, delivery, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of all projects.
  • Conduct initial site visits, collecting and documenting all valid information regarding a given enquiry/contract, resulting in the estimating and initial quotation of a project/task
  • Act as first port of call for clients and the PMP liaison throughout the project thereafter
  • Resolve/intersect any non-conformance or complaints associated with the delivery of services to clients, providing robust solutions, support as well as identifying any additional requirements
  • Assess any commercial risk within a project and devise technical, commercial, HSEQ and/or engineering solutions to combat/negate
  • Oversee, instruct, and delegate to all members of the operational team
  • Liaise closely with the Engineering, SHEQ, Business and Commercial departments on all project and ensure effective communication is maintained throughout all projects
  • Quote work using the relevant frameworks and information to ensure competitive pricing while at the same time making sure the project is commercially viable for the business
  • Manage internal resources and external contractors, dealing with any unforeseen/last minute resource changes/issues to ensure successful completion of all projects at a given time
  • Build, maintain and develop good working relationships with team leaders and supervisors, holding regular group meetings/individual detailed project briefings regarding projects, staff, company gaols/need and any other relevant information that may aid the team in any/all daily business activities
  • Facilitate every aspect of the teams needs/requirements in/around a project/task to execute its successful completion eg. Making sure that all pricing, design, procurement, and manufacture involved within a given project has been covered thus allowing a team to attend site with everything required at their disposal
  • Conduct conditional surveys, write reports, give technical recommendations/repair solutions, and provide outlines for costs.
  • Act as first port of call for all clients

Preferred


  • Qualifications, background and/or experience in project management
  • Strong proven qualifications, background and/or experience in multiple areas of the following: Mechanical engineering, Rope access / confined space rescue, Amex seal installation / pipework repairs (internal, external), Fabrication/manufacture, Design, Project management or Civil, oil, gas, chemical engineering
  • Must possess a broad range of engineering knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Water industry experience is highly preferable but not essential
  • The desire to progress within the business to join the PMP Management Team

  • Excellent facilitator, able to think, plan and execute decisively making sure that nothing is missed or left to chance
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to always maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Previous management/leadership experience with a proven track record of managing/leading, supervising, motivating, developing successful teams
  • Highly effective team player, Self-motivated with ability to use initiative
  • Excellent communication skill required with the ability to quickly develop and build rapport with customers and colleagues
