We are looking for a Project Manager with IT software and tech experience to join a vibrant company in Leeds
Main responsibilities
- Supporting integration delivery activities for a project or series of work packages, ensuring appropriate input from a range of internal stakeholders and external supplier organisations.
- Using broad experience and technical expertise to aid and support the team’s technical capability on a day to day basis;
- Driving and managing successful delivery outcomes across all stages of the development lifecycle of the project, making sure that products at all stages are fit for purpose, fully tested and performant;
- Supporting activities to specify, assess, select and deliver technology services from external vendors via a structured process;
- Help Shaping solutions in a way that balances short term delivery for the programme with flexible, scalable and reusable across other DWP areas in the future;
- Working with other specialist technical and security staff to specify, procure, develop and deploy appropriate services, for both development/test and production environments.
- Removing blockers that relate to technology and other service delivery activities.
- Creating an environment conducive to self-organising people and teams, and ready to step in with advice where needed.
- Demonstrating delivery discipline in an environment with conflicting priorities and demands.
- Working to combine input from the different disciplines across all teams involved, to enable effective delivery from everyone.
- Ensuring that all products and services are developed to an appropriate level of quality
- Support collaborative, dynamic, cross team planning processes; prioritising the work that needs to be done, given capacity and capability limits.
- Actively participating in the wider delivery community, sharing and re-applying skills, knowledge and bringing in best practice.
Knowledge/ Experience & Technical Skills
- Have demonstrable experience of delivering technology products and integration technology services, via appropriate project management methodologies and using both internal teams and services from external supplier organisations.
- Have a proven track record of supporting large teams and working successfully with a range of challenging stakeholders.
- Have experience in working in a multi-team, portfolio delivery structure.
- Have experience of working with business users to ensure that technology products and services are created with user needs at the forefront of all development activity.
- Have the ability to work closely with a Product Owners to define the technology roadmap for any given service and translate this into user stories / requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to balance short- and longer-term solution demands, planning pragmatically with suitable risk management.
- Be able to use the best of both Agile and Waterfall methods to support delivery of successful outcomes quickly.
- Thrive in a fast-moving, changing environment
