An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Materials Handler to join a busy manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials and finished products, supporting production activities, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload a variety of products using overhead crane equipment.
  • Transport and process materials across multiple sites using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck and company vehicle.
  • Operate general workshop machinery and hand tools associated with materials handling activities.
  • Carry out quality inspections on completed work and materials.
  • Ensure production areas receive materials promptly to maximise operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and promptly report equipment faults, shortages, or operational issues.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to the smooth running of manufacturing operations.

Beneficial Skills / Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence, ideally with experience operating up to 7-tonne capacity trucks.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to support other areas of the business when required.
  • Experience of overhead crane operation, lifting and slinging activities.
  • Experience working within a mechanical or electrical engineering environment.
