As Financial Controller, you'll own the day-to-day finance function whilst partnering closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership team to help drive business performance.

This is a broad, hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from producing management accounts and managing cashflow through to improving processes, supporting commercial decisions and ensuring the finance function continues to evolve alongside the business.

You'll have the autonomy to make improvements, strengthen financial controls and deliver meaningful financial insight. As the business grows, so will your role, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with ambition who wants to accelerate their career.

• Producing accurate monthly management accounts and board reporting
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Taking ownership of cashflow forecasting and treasury management
• Maintaining robust financial controls and governance
• Managing statutory reporting, VAT, corporation tax and audit requirements
• Producing insightful financial analysis to support commercial decision making
• Building relationships with banks, auditors and external advisers
• Supporting strategic projects, business planning and future growth initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting
• Getting involved wherever needed within the finance function in a true SME environment

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with around 2 to 5 years' post-qualified experience and be looking for a role where you can have genuine ownership and visibility.

We're looking for someone who has built their career within a growing SME, where being hands-on comes naturally. You'll be comfortable working in a lean finance team, happy to roll your sleeves up and capable of juggling multiple priorities across the finance function.

You'll enjoy operating in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and where adding value goes far beyond producing the numbers.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experienced within a growing SME or entrepreneurial business
• Used to working in small, hands-on finance teams
• Comfortable taking ownership across all areas of the finance function
• Commercially minded with strong technical accounting skills
• Confident producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Experienced managing cashflow and maintaining strong financial controls
• Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
• Motivated, ambitious and keen to continue developing
• An excellent communicator who enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business
