Nigel Wright Group is delighted to be supporting a leading international food manufacturer in the search for an Ingredients Buyer to join its growing procurement team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with ingredients or raw materials purchasing experience to take ownership of a diverse spend portfolio within a large, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working across multiple sites and supplier categories, you will play a key role in ensuring supply continuity, driving commercial value, supporting NPD initiatives and strengthening supplier performance.

Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the Ingredients Buyer will manage a broad range of ingredient categories (flavourings, seasonings, additives) and work closely with colleagues across Procurement, Commercial, Quality, Technical and Operations.

The Opportunity
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the Ingredients Buyer will manage a broad range of ingredient categories (flavourings, seasonings, additives) and work closely with colleagues across Procurement, Commercial, Quality, Technical and Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end to end procurement activity across a diverse ingredients portfolio
- Managing sourcing projects, supplier negotiations and cost-saving initiatives
- Building and developing strong supplier relationships
- Monitoring supplier performance across cost, quality, service and compliance
- Supporting new product development and innovation projects
- Conducting spend analysis and reporting to identify improvement opportunities
- Working with Quality and Technical teams to ensure specification and regulatory compliance
About You
The successful Ingredients Buyer will have:
- Procurement or purchasing experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or a regulated manufacturing environment
- Previous experience sourcing ingredients, raw materials or similar
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
- Good commercial awareness and analytical capability
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Experience using ERP systems and Excel
- A proactive, hands-on approach and continuous improvement mindset
