As part of their continued growth and investment, they are seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially minded Purchasing Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team and lead the transformation of their procurement function.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a proactive purchasing professional to reshape systems, processes and supplier relationships, implementing best-in-class procurement practices while developing and leading a small, dedicated team.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will take ownership of the purchasing function and play a pivotal role in supporting the company's strategic growth plans.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies that support business objectives.
  • Managing and strengthening supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability and commercial value.
  • Driving cost reduction and margin improvement initiatives through effective negotiation and supplier management.
  • Leading inventory optimisation and demand forecasting activities to maximise stock availability while minimising working capital.
  • Enhancing procurement processes, systems and controls, ensuring efficiency, scalability and best practice.
  • Developing, mentoring and motivating the purchasing team to deliver exceptional performance.
  • Working collaboratively with sales, operations and senior leadership to support customer requirements and business growth.

About You

We are keen to speak with ambitious procurement professionals who combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, Procurement Manager or Procurement Lead within a technical, engineering, electrical, automation or industrial environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience of inventory management, stock control and forecasting.
  • A track record of improving procurement performance, processes and systems.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience developing and managing teams.
  • Confidence using ERP/MRP systems and procurement analytics.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and contribute effectively as part of a senior leadership team.

The Business

Our client is a market-leading and rapidly expanding provider of technical products, systems and ancillary solutions to a diverse customer base across multiple industrial sectors.
They have built an enviable reputation for service, quality and technical expertise and are now looking to appoint a high-calibre purchasing professional who can drive further operational excellence and support the next phase of business growth.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary of £60,000 per annum
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Genuine opportunity to shape and transform a key business function
  • Senior leadership exposure and influence
  • A growing, ambitious and successful business environment
