Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for a role within a fast-paced, professional and collaborative environment? We are working exclusively with a well-established global organisation seeking a confident and proactive Credit Controller to join their Leeds-based finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a high-performing credit function where you will take ownership of your own ledger, build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and play a key role in driving cash collection performance.
The RoleReporting into the Credit Management team, you will be responsible for managing outstanding debt, ensuring payments are collected within agreed terms, and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Chasing overdue invoices by telephone and email
- Ensuring debts are collected within agreed payment terms
- Meeting cash collection and debtor day targets
- Managing and resolving invoice queries and disputes
- Maintaining accurate records of all collection activity
- Building relationships with clients and senior stakeholders to support timely payment
- Managing invoicing and payment activity through client portals
- Undertaking account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Supporting cash allocation and cash posting activities
- Managing credit notes and contractual payment requirements
- Identifying payment trends, risks and potential issues before they escalate
- Producing ad hoc reports and supporting wider finance team objectives
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous credit control experience within a busy and professional environment and be comfortable managing a high-volume ledger.
You will also possess:
- Previous experience within Credit Control or Accounts Receivable
- Strong understanding of credit control procedures and debtor management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- A proactive and self-motivated approach
- Confidence in building relationships and influencing outcomes
- The ability to identify and escalate potential risks where appropriate
