Assistant Accountant - #2120125

HW Finance are pleased to partner with a long standing client to recruit a commercially focused Assistant Accountant to support the financial performance of the business.

In this role you will provide essential support across the day-to-day financial operations of the division.

This is a varied role offering exposure to KPI reporting, transactional accounting and month end processes.

• Support the Accountant and Finance Manager with the day-to-day financial management of the division.
• Analyse financial performance and identify key trends and variances.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of transactional accounting records.
• Assist with month-end close and reporting processes.
• Investigate financial discrepancies and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
• Provide accurate financial information and analysis to support commercial decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with wider finance teams across the business.
• Ensure accounting processes and controls are consistently followed.

We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in accounting in a mid-large sized business who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

You will ideally have:

• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Studying towards a professional accounting qualification
• A proactive, forward-thinking approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

You'll be primarily based from home, with the expectation to be in the Leeds or Sheffield office 1 day a week (although you can be based in the office more if you wish).
