Job Title: Paraplanner / Trainee Adviser
Location: Leeds – Office Based
Salary:£40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience
Benefits:
- 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays

- Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with flexibility to work 8am–4pm

About the Company:
An established, small and friendly financial services firm based in Leeds is looking to appoint an experienced Level 4 qualified Paraplanner to join their close-knit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Paraplanner who is looking to take the next step in their career and progress towards becoming a Financial Adviser. The successful candidate will continue to undertake Paraplanning responsibilities while receiving the opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience as a Trainee Adviser.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality Paraplanning support to the Adviser and wider team
- Prepare suitability reports, financial analysis and recommendations
- Assist with pension, investment and protection-related cases
- Support the Adviser with the management and servicing of an established client bank
- Assist with new business processing and ongoing client reviews
- Conduct research and analysis to support financial planning recommendations
- Liaise with product providers and other third parties
- Ensure all client documentation is accurate, compliant and completed within agreed timescales
- Take on increasing responsibility for client relationships as experience develops
- Work towards progressing into a Trainee Adviser position
- Develop the skills and experience required to eventually provide regulated financial advice
What We’re Looking For:
- Level 4 Diploma qualified in Financial Planning
- Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within financial services
- Strong understanding of financial planning and investment products
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workloads and work to deadlines
- Professional, personable and confident when dealing with clients and colleagues
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently
- Someone who is genuinely interested in progressing into a Financial Adviser role
- Comfortable working within a small, family-run team environment
- Willingness to work office-based in Leeds
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using Intelligent Office (IO)
- Experience using Defaqto
- Experience supporting an Adviser with a varied client bank
- Strong report-writing and analytical skills
- Previous experience with pensions, investments and protection
- A genuine ambition to progress into an Adviser role
