As part of our continued investment in Procurement, we're looking for a Senior Procurement Category Manager to manage a significant Logistics spend portfolio and partner with stakeholders across one of the UK's most recognised retail brands.

The Opportunity

Logistics sits at the heart of ASDA's supply chain operations and customer proposition.

As Senior Procurement Category Manager - Logistics, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies across a substantial logistics spend portfolio spanning transport, warehousing, distribution, fleet, home delivery and supply chain services.

You'll lead some of the organisation's most complex and commercially significant sourcing initiatives, ensuring ASDA maximises value from supplier relationships whilst supporting service excellence, operational efficiency and future growth.

This role offers significant visibility across the business and the opportunity to work on major strategic programmes that directly impact customer availability, operational performance and business growth.

· Warehousing & Storage Solutions

· Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Providers

· Fleet Management & Vehicle Services

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute category strategies across the Logistics portfolio.

· Lead complex sourcing projects, tenders and significant commercial negotiations to deliver cost optimisation and value creation opportunities.

· Ensure robust commercial governance, risk management and supplier compliance.

· Analyse spend, market trends and supplier capabilities to inform decision-making.

· Partner with senior stakeholders across Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations to understand business priorities and deliver commercial solutions.

· Play a key role in ASDA's Procurement Transformation Programme.

· Support the delivery of strategic logistics, transportation and supply chain initiatives across the ASDA network.

Profile

About You

We're looking for a commercially driven procurement leader who combines strong strategic sourcing expertise with experience operating in complex logistics and supply chain environments, the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and the ambition to shape one of the UK's most significant logistics spend portfolios.

Essential Experience

· Significant experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management.

· Strong commercial negotiation and contract management expertise.

· Experience managing complex, high-value supplier relationships.

· Experience influencing senior stakeholders within large organisations.

· Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.

· Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced transformation environment.

Highly Desirable Experience

· Logistics Procurement experience.

· Transportation and freight sourcing.

· Warehousing and distribution services procurement.

· Fleet and vehicle management procurement.

· Home delivery and last-mile logistics solutions.

· Third-Party Logistics (3PL) supplier management.

· Supply chain transformation and optimisation programmes.

· Supplier management within a national distribution network.

· Knowledge of key suppliers and market dynamics across the logistics and supply chain sector.
