About the Role

In this role, you will:

  •  Act as a first point of administrative contact for governance and admissions enquiries from schools, trusts and academies.
  • Offer initial support and advice, ensuring more complex issues are referred to the appropriate colleague or adviser.
  • Check admissions arrangements for compliance with diocesan expectations and support timely responses to consultations and pre-consultations.
  • Maintain accurate governance and admissions records, including foundation governor appointments and routine changes to governing bodies.
  •  Help ensure diocesan guidance is clear, up to date and easy for schools, trusts and academies to access.
  • Support the wider Education Team by updating the database and website, managing electronic mailing lists and issuing safeguarding assurance letters when requested by schools.
  • Every day will involve helping schools and colleagues by keeping information accurate, responding carefully to enquiries and making sure agreed processes are followed well.

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  •  Have experience in an administrative or support role, ideally in education, charity, public sector, diocesan or similar service environment.
  •  Are organised, accurate and confident keeping records, updating systems and following agreed processes.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally by phone and email, and know when to escalate an enquiry for further advice.
  •  Enjoy building positive working relationships with schools, trusts, academies, local authorities and colleagues.
  •  Are confident using Microsoft 365 and willing to learn new systems, including databases, websites and mailing list tools.
  •  Are committed to the mission and ethos of the Church of England and the flourishing of all our schools.

We are looking to appoint a Governor and Admissions Support Assistant to join our committed and highly supportive Education Team. This is an important administrative and support role, helping us provide clear, timely and well organised support to Church of England schools and academies across the Diocese of Leeds.

You will be a first point of administrative contact for schools, trusts and academies on governance and admissions matters. You will provide initial support and advice, escalate more complex issues where necessary, keep accurate records, help maintain guidance and ensure routine processes are

followed carefully. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working with people, keeping systems organised and helping busy teams work well.
