The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Document Production Specialist to join our Day Team, 12pm - 8pm, Monday to Friday. Our In-House Team is a dedicated group of Document Production Specialists who are an integral part of the Eversheds Sutherland community, delivering document processing services to our offices worldwide. The team’s primary objective isto deliver the highest standards in document quality and service excellence to all practice groups and clients.


The responsibilities of the In-house Team can be dissected into a range of specialist areas such as; word processing from audio dictation; copy typing; amending document from instruction; complex formatting and styling documents to comply with house style and the firms brand; designing and amending pitch and presentation documents in MS office using imagery and design tools; and proofreading of legal documents, to name a few. On average, the team handles upwards of 150 tasks per day, each varying in type, complexity and turnaround time.


This role is primarily home-based, so a suitable homeworking environment is essential. Attendance at our Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester or Birmingham offices is available at any time, and monthly team days, support meetings and face-to-face training are held on site. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our day operation and provide further support to our well-established team.



Role and key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating, formatting and updating pitches, presentations, posters and other collateral to align with the businesses branding
  • Supporting the team with transcription of legal documents from digitally-dictated material (BigHand/Speech Recognition/Windows Media Player)
  • Supporting the team with creating, amending legal documents, adhering to house styles, using MS Office suite
  • Supporting the team with reformatting of lengthy and complex documents, performing comparisons and conversions to different formats
  • Managing tight deadlines in a high volume production environment
  • Communicating with our clients to ensure the product meets the clients expectations and timeframe
  • Liaising with colleagues and your line manager to ensure work is produced to the highest possible standard
  • Following set working processes and conforming to the businesses high standards of professionalism



Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Strong experience creating and designing documents in Microsoft Office and/or Adobe is essential
  • Previous experience in Document Production, Word Processing or a secretarial role is required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced legal or corporate environment is advantageous
  • A suitable homeworking environment is required (all necessary equipment will be provided)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong attention to detail with a “right first time” approach
  • Methodical, process-driven approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while remaining calm and focused under pressure
  • You respond well to feedback from your clients and colleagues, and you thrive in a continuous feedback culture
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
