Business Support Assistant
SJC is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded law firm looking for a professional, approachable and service-focused Business Support Assistant to join its team.
This varied role would suit someone with experience in administration, reception, office support or customer service. As the position involves handling a high volume of telephone calls, candidates from call centre, contact centre, retail, hospitality or other customer-facing backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Working closely with the wider team, you’ll support a range of operational and administrative activities. From answering calls and managing post to providing document support and assisting with Health and Safety administration, you’ll play an important role in helping the firm’s people do their best work.
Both full-time and part-time working patterns will be considered.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a friendly, professional and efficient telephone and switchboard service.
- Handling a high volume of incoming calls and directing enquiries appropriately.
- Supporting the Front of House Reception team and providing cover when required.
- Managing incoming and outgoing post.
- Coordinating courier collections and deliveries.
- Providing printing, scanning, copying and document support.
- Assisting colleagues with office equipment and resolving or reporting issues.
- Supporting Health and Safety administration.
- Helping with the smooth running of day-to-day office and operational activities.
- Keeping shared spaces organised, welcoming and ready for use.
- Monitoring stock levels and replenishing office supplies.
- Providing flexible support during busy periods and when colleagues are away.
- Helping to deliver a consistently high-quality Business Support Services experience across the firm.
- Have experience in customer service, administration, reception or another people-focused role.
- Be comfortable handling a high volume of telephone calls.
- Communicate confidently, clearly and professionally with people at all levels.
- Enjoy supporting others and creating a positive customer experience.
- Be able to organise your workload and manage a variety of tasks and priorities.
- Work well as part of a team while being comfortable using your initiative.
- Adapt to changing demands with a flexible and proactive approach.
- Have excellent attention to detail and understand the importance of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Feel confident using everyday office equipment and technology—or be enthusiastic about learning.
