Are you an experienced Private Client Tax professional looking for a role where you can take ownership of your own client portfolio, develop your technical expertise and play a key role in a growing tax team?

We are working with a leading professional services firm to recruit a Private Client Tax Manager / Senior Manager to join its established Tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience across Trust and Estate Tax who enjoys building long-term client relationships and wants a role offering a blend of compliance, advisory work, team development and genuine autonomy.

The Role:

You will take responsibility for managing your own varied client portfolio, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring a high-quality service is delivered throughout.

Alongside overseeing complex personal tax compliance, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of advisory work, including CGT, remuneration planning, trusts and IHT matters.

You will also play an important role in developing junior members of the team and identifying opportunities to add further value to your clients.

Day to Day Includes:

• Managing your own portfolio of private clients, trusts and estates.
• Acting as the main point of contact and building strong, long-term client relationships.
• Overseeing the completion of MTD quarterly reporting, Final Declarations and Self-Assessment tax returns.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team.
• Managing WIP, billing and fee proposals across your portfolio.
• Identifying opportunities for additional work and cross-selling wider services.
• Preparing and supporting a range of ad-hoc tax advisory work.
• Advising on areas including Capital Gains Tax, remuneration planning, Trust Registrations and Inheritance Tax returns.
• Working closely with specialist Tax Advisory and wider business teams.
• Line managing, mentoring and supporting junior team members.
• Helping drive the adoption of new technology and more efficient ways of working.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience across Trust and Estate Tax Compliance, Trust Registration Service, Trust Administration and IHT Returns.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and building strong client relationships.
• Ability to undertake independent technical research and provide practical solutions.
• Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
• Commercial awareness, including WIP and billing management.
• Experience using CCH would be advantageous but is not essential.
