Are you a Private Client Tax professional looking to move into a more advisory-focused role with exposure to a broad range of technically interesting work?

We are working with a leading professional services firm to recruit a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join its growing Tax Advisory team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their advisory career, working with a varied portfolio including HNW and UHNW individuals, business and farm owners, non-resident individuals, globally mobile executives, partnerships, trusts and estates.

The Role:

Working closely with experienced tax specialists and senior members of the team, you will support the delivery of a broad range of private client tax advisory projects while building strong client relationships and developing your technical expertise.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure across multiple areas of tax, with no two projects being quite the same. You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your development, build your own professional network and become increasingly involved in business development and client relationships.

Day to Day Includes:

  • Supporting the delivery of tax advisory services to a varied portfolio of private clients.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Advising on a broad range of matters including Inheritance Tax and succession planning, Capital Gains Tax planning, trust structuring, residence and international tax.
  • Supporting transaction-related tax advice and other complex advisory projects.
  • Working closely with senior members of the team to identify additional advisory opportunities.
  • Participating in client meetings and helping present complex tax advice in a clear and commercial way.
  • Managing WIP and supporting proposals, fee discussions and new business opportunities.
  • Supporting and training junior members of the team.
  • Undertaking independent technical research across a broad range of tax matters.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to provide a joined-up service to clients.
  • Attending networking events and developing your own professional network.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to other specialist services.

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant professional qualification such as CTA, ATT, STEP, CA or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience within a Private Client Tax Advisory role.
  • Strong interest in developing broad tax advisory expertise.
  • Ability to undertake independent technical research and apply findings to client situations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to explain complex tax matters clearly and commercially.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to business development and professional networking.
  • Experience using Tolley's research tools would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Apply?

  • Advisory-focused role with broad technical exposure.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of tax planning work.
  • Genuine opportunity to develop your technical expertise and carve out your own specialisms.
  • Private medical insurance and wellbeing support.
  • Competitive pension and life assurance.
  • Enhanced parental leave.
  • Paid volunteering day.
  • Flexible holiday options.
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Private Client Tax Senior or experienced Tax Consultant looking to step up into an Assistant Manager role, or an existing Assistant Manager looking for greater advisory exposure and the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing team.
