Are you an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer looking to come off the tools and move into a technical office-based role?

We’re recruiting for a fast-growing home energy and installation business that is expanding its technical team in Leeds.

This role sits on the pre-install side of the operation. You’ll use your practical installation experience to review customer information, photographs and proposed boiler installations before work is released to field engineers.

It would suit an experienced Gas Engineer, Boiler Installer, Technical Advisor or Gas Technical Support Engineer who has strong installation knowledge and wants to move away from full-time field work.

• £40,000 basic salary
• 30 days annual leave + bank holidays – 38 days total

The Role

You’ll review proposed domestic boiler installations before engineers attend site, making sure the specification is practical, safe and technically correct.

• Review customer photographs, measurements and installation information
• Assess proposed boiler locations and system requirements
• Check flue routes, clearances and installation suitability
• Review existing heating systems and identify potential issues before installation
• Speak with customers where additional information or clarification is required
• Amend specifications where site information highlights a problem
• Support internal teams with technical queries
• Approve jobs for installation once all technical requirements have been satisfied

What We’re Looking For

This role requires someone with strong hands-on domestic gas installation experience.

You should be confident looking at photographs and technical information and quickly understanding whether a proposed installation will work in the real world.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience across boiler installation, heating systems, flues, controls and domestic gas compliance.

You’ll also need:

• Strong domestic boiler installation knowledge
• Current or previous Gas Safe experience
• Good understanding of flue positioning and installation requirements
• Strong technical problem-solving ability
• Confidence speaking with customers and engineers
• Good IT skills and attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence

Previous experience within technical support, surveying, design, QA or installation planning would be advantageous, but isn’t essential if you have a strong installation background.
