Type: Fixed term contract (until July 2027) - Full Time or Part time
Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 full time equivalent (Pro rata to 40 weeks)
Eden Brown Education is recruiting for a Student Community Development Officer on behalf of a Further Education College in West Yorkshire.
This is a fixed term contract until July 2027, 40 weeks per year, 37 hours or 18.5 hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and student-focused individual to help enhance the student experience through the delivery of engaging enrichment, personal development and student voice activities.
Working closely with students and colleagues across the college, you will develop and coordinate a varied programme of enrichment activities, social action projects, wellbeing initiatives and Students Union activities. You will play a key role in promoting student engagement, supporting personal development and helping students build the skills and confidence needed for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise and deliver a wide range of enrichment and personal development activities.
- Support and develop Students Union initiatives, student-led groups and campaigns.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and positive student engagement.
- Coordinate volunteering, social action and community projects.
- Track participation and engagement data, producing reports and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Work with internal teams and external organisations to enhance opportunities for students.
- Support student voice activities and gather feedback to continually improve the student experience.
- Assist with college events, enrolment activities and open evenings.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young people in an education, youth work, community or support setting.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing and the barriers facing young people.
- Experience planning and delivering engaging activities, events or projects.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to motivate, inspire and engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and databases.
- A proactive and creative approach to supporting student development and participation.
