Interim Financial Controller - #2138278

HW Finance is exclusively supporting a high-growth manufacturing business in the recruitment of an Interim Financial Controller to join their finance leadership team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established international business, which has experienced significant transformation and growth following a recent change in ownership. As the business continues to evolve, they are seeking an experienced and technically strong Financial Controller to help strengthen financial controls, compliance processes and team capability.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the financial control environment across multiple entities, whilst providing hands-on leadership to a small finance team. This is a varied and highly visible position that will suit a technically strong finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves when required.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the month-end close process
• Managing internal and external audit requirements
• Ensuring compliance across multiple legal entities
• Ownership of technical accounting matters
• Stock and inventory reporting
• Lease accounting and technical accounting assessments
• Supporting the application of UK GAAP
• Driving improvements to financial systems, processes and controls
• Managing and developing a team of four finance professionals
• Supporting future finance transformation and integration projects
• Providing hands-on support during peak reporting periods, including journal postings and balance sheet reviews where required

Ideally you will have:

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
• Practice-trained background, ideally with audit experience
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP
• Experience managing audit processes and financial compliance
• The ability to operate effectively within a changing and evolving business environment
