Academics in Leeds are currently recruiting a number of Learning Support Assistants and teaching assistants to work in one of our SEND Schools in Leeds. They are a very inclusive provision for SEND students from 6 to 18 who have various needs from Autism to other complex needs as well as physical needs. They have a residential offering which allows students from across the UK to join.
As a teaching assistant / Learning Support Assistant you will be required to support particular students working closely with them throughout the day taking into care their needs. You may also be required to support with personal care.
You must have a Child and Adult DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one in order to be considered for these roles!
* The ideal teaching assistant or Learning Support Assistant will have experience of working with students with SEND needs, and understand the needs
* Candidates with experience working with children/adults with SEND and/or the care industry will also be considered
* A can do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom
* The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
* The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members
