NJR Recruitment is delighted to be working with an established financial planning business in Leeds that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join its technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Paraplanner who enjoys working on complex financial planning cases, particularly pensions, and is looking for a role where they can continue to develop their technical expertise and progress towards Chartered status.
You will work closely with advisers and the wider Technical Unit, producing high-quality client reports, supporting portfolio reviews and providing technical guidance across a broad range of financial planning areas.
The Role
As Senior Paraplanner, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing accurate and compliant client reports within agreed timescales
- Supporting advisers with the production of client portfolio reviews
- Responding to client and adviser technical queries
- Producing detailed client cash-flow models
- Monitoring and updating preferred provider panels and recommended structures
- Assisting with the ongoing review of providers and solutions
- Working alongside the Technical Unit to update standard reports, report wording, tools and technical resources
- Supporting the development and training of colleagues across different areas of financial advice
- Producing technical bulletins and updates for clients and professional introducers when appropriate
- Providing wider technical support to the business and helping maintain high standards of advice and client service
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with experienced Paraplanners who can demonstrate:
- Minimum CII Diploma qualification or equivalent, including pension planning papers
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar Paraplanning/technical role within financial services
- Comprehensive experience and strong technical knowledge of pensions
- Good understanding of financial planning and investment advice
- Strong report-writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work accurately and manage agreed deadlines
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of compliance
- A genuine interest in developing technical knowledge and supporting colleagues
The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to work towards the Advanced Diploma and Chartered status.
