We are looking for a reliable and motivated *Data Centre Facilities Assistant* to join a growing operations team supporting a modern critical infrastructure environment in Leeds / West Yorkshire.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career within the data centre, facilities and critical infrastructure sector.


Previous data centre experience is *not essential*. We are looking for someone with a strong willingness to learn, good attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of following procedures, managing risk and working responsibly within a critical environment.


You will support the facilities and operations teams with the day-to-day running of the site, helping to maintain a safe, secure, efficient and well-organised environment.


## Key Responsibilities


* Support the day-to-day operation of the data centre facility.

* Assist with routine site inspections and operational checks.

* Maintain accurate records, logs and facilities documentation.

* Support the coordination of planned maintenance and site activities.

* Assist with contractor and visitor access.

* Help monitor facilities-related issues and report concerns to the appropriate team.

* Support engineering and facilities teams with general operational activities.

* Assist with the management of equipment, materials and site supplies.

* Help ensure work areas remain clean, safe and organised.

* Follow site procedures, security requirements and health and safety processes.

* Assist with incident reporting and the escalation of operational issues.

* Support environmental, sustainability and responsible working initiatives where required.

* Complete all required training and maintain relevant site knowledge.

* Work collaboratively with facilities, engineering, security and operations teams.


## About You


This role would suit someone from a variety of backgrounds, including:


* Facilities

* Maintenance

* Warehouse or logistics

* Security

* Manufacturing

* Construction

* Building services

* Engineering support

* Hospitality or other operational environments


Previous experience in these areas would be beneficial but is *not essential*.


We are primarily looking for someone who is reliable, organised and comfortable working within a structured environment where procedures, accuracy and accountability are important.


The following knowledge or understanding would be advantageous, but is *not essential*:


* Risk management and responsible decision-making.

* Governance, compliance or internal procedures.

* The importance of accountability and transparency when working with technology.

* Data protection, information security or confidentiality.

* Responsible use of emerging technologies.

* Environmental or sustainability awareness.

* Working within regulated, safety-critical or highly controlled environments.

* Understanding how technology can create operational, security or wider organisational risks.


## Additional Experience


The following would also be beneficial but is not essential:


* Facilities or maintenance experience.

* Experience working with contractors or site visitors.

* Warehouse or logistics experience.

* Experience working shifts.

* Health and safety training.

* Basic electrical or mechanical knowledge.

* Experience maintaining logs, records or compliance documentation.

* Experience working within a security-conscious environment.


## Training & Development


Previous data centre experience is not required.


You will receive training and support to develop your understanding of:


* Data centre and critical infrastructure environments.

* Facilities operations.

* Site procedures and operational standards.

* Health, safety and security requirements.

* Risk awareness and incident reporting.

* Environmental and sustainability considerations.

* Documentation and operational record keeping.

* Professional responsibilities when working with critical technology and infrastructure.
