Impact Student Partners is a Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Provider that specialises in supporting students with disabilities including SpLD's, Mental Health Conditions and Neurodiversity. We partner with Higher Education institutions such as Universities and Colleges across the UK. 

The role: 

We are currently recruiting for Study Skills Tutors (ASC) based in and around Leeds that can offer a hybrid approach to supporting students with Autism – this means you must be able to provide both online and in-person support.  

Responsibilities:

As a Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Tutor (ASC), you will be responsible for supporting students during their studies and helping them to develop effective learning strategies including: 

  • Understanding assignment expectations – helping students to understand ambiguous or complex questions and breaking them down

  • Structuring essays and coursework – developing logical essay plans and organising ideas into clear arguments 

  • Managing academic reading  

  • Executive functioning for coursework – realistically blocking, estimating and managing time 

  • Academic writing skills  

  • Notetaking and process information  

  • Support for exams and assessments – interpretation of questions and structuring responses, as well as utilising reasonable adjustments

Experience and qualifications: 

It is essential that you hold: 

  • A University degree  

  • Teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS,  AFHEA, Cert Ed, DELTA or a relevant professional body membership with BDA, PASSHE, PATOSS, ADSHE or Dyslexia Guild 

  • Training in Autism such as the NAS Modules; Optymum Student Support Training; Onyx Student Support Training; Spectrum First Training.

  • Please write in the Cover Letter which teaching qualifications and autism training you hold.

Pay and benefits: 

You will be employed on a temporary basis and can choose to support as many students as you wish. The role is very flexible and we offer a competitive hourly rate. 

  • £35 per hour + £4.22 holiday pay (£39.22 per hour rolled up)
