Role Purpose
Your mission as Area Sales Manager - Direct is to maximise and grow the sales of our air compressor range. This is a field-based role covering the Northern sales territory, responsible for developing new business and strengthening relationships with existing customers across your area.
Key Responsibilities
- Increase revenue of aftermarket components, including but not limited to spare parts, mechanical and electrical components, pipework, and extended warranty agreements across the territory, in accordance with agreed business and area plans and budgets.
- Plan and prioritise sales activities, customer and prospect interaction, and marketing activities towards achieving agreed business aims, including sales growth and profitability.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
- Deliver sales presentations, end-user sales and site visits, and exhibitions as required.
- Drive a value-based sales approach, promoting product features and benefits.
- Manage customer satisfaction and support warranty and related supply issues pertaining to your geographical sales area and customer base.
- Manage pricing within your area, avoiding price erosion, with support from the Business Line Manager and in line with pricing guidelines.
- Operate within the current tier-based loyalty structure and in line with the Company's mission.
- Make proactive use of the CRM system to maintain a consistent and clear view of the sales forecast and pipeline.
- Formulate commercial proposals and calculate sales prices to maximise both revenue and profit.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Relevant HNC/ONC qualification or equivalent experience gained through time served.
- Proven B2B sales experience; industrial sector aftermarket sales experience will be viewed as a distinct advantage.
- Good working knowledge of the compressed air industry.
- Experience of sales territory management.
- Able to apply technical and professional knowledge and information effectively.
- Able to promote, develop, and maintain a culture conducive to quality throughout the organisation and to improve its performance.
- Able to positively persuade, convince, and impress others in order to achieve results.
- Able to identify alternatives to current thinking, and to develop and implement innovative solutions to problems.
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
- Resident within the geographical area, with the ability to visit the Warrington office when required.

Job Location
This role is field-based and covers the Northern sales territory, with a preferred location around Halifax or Leeds. The successful applicant must have the right to live and work in the UK.
