Furniture Polisher - Late Shift

Salary: £17.50 per hour, dependent on experience.

Employment: Permanent, 39 hours per week

Work schedule - 4 days : Monday - Wednesday 3:30pm – 2:00am, Thursday 3:30pm – 1:00am

Location: Leeds LS10, West Yorkshire

We are a leading UK manufacturer of high-quality hotel bedroom furniture, supplying major hotel brands nationwide. With all manufacturing based at a single, well-organised site, we pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship, efficiency, and strong team collaboration.

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Furniture Polisher to join our production team. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the efficient, high-quality application of paint and finishes across all products.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Apply lacquers and paints using spray equipment, including AC and water-based products.
  • Carry out colour spraying and colour matching to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure all finished products meet the required quality and presentation standards.
  • Work efficiently to meet production targets and tight customer deadlines.
  • Maintain the spray shop to a high standard, including changing filters, keeping equipment and work areas clean, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Follow all company HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) requirements and procedures.
  • Identify and report any issues that could affect quality, safety or production.
  • Work flexibly and support other production activities when required.
  • Contribute positively to a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working as a Furniture Polisher / Sprayer or in a similar finishing environment.
  • Proven experience spraying lacquers and paints, including both AC and water-based products.
  • Experience with colour spraying and matching customer colours.
  • Knowledge of maintaining a spray shop and following safe working practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • The ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
