Role – Landscape Architect

Location – Leeds

Salary – £35K - £42K

We are looking for a Landscape Architect with experience or a strong interest in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) to join a growing multidisciplinary team in Bristol.

The role will have a predominant focus on landscape planning and LVIA, working across a varied range of projects including residential, infrastructure and commercial developments. The successful candidate will support the preparation and delivery of landscape and visual assessments, working alongside experienced Landscape Architects and Planners throughout the planning and design process.

Our client is a multidisciplinary practice with 14 offices across the UK. They specialise in planning, design, land and property, providing advice across the full development process. The role offers the opportunity to work within an established landscape team while continuing to develop technical, planning and LVIA experience.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA)
  • Prepare landscape and visual assessment reports and supporting documentation
  • Undertake site visits, fieldwork and landscape and visual surveys
  • Prepare viewpoint assessments and contribute to the selection of representative viewpoints
  • Work closely with Landscape Architects, planning teams, clients and environmental consultants
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of visualisations, photomontages and supporting graphics
  • Research relevant landscape planning policy and environmental considerations
  • Contribute to projects from initial assessment through planning and design stages
  • Support senior members of the team with the delivery of larger and more complex projects

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Previous professional experience within landscape architecture, landscape planning or LVIA
  • Some practical experience of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment
  • Good written communication and report-writing skills
  • Understanding of landscape planning principles and the UK planning system
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and GIS would be advantageous
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
  • Working towards Chartership with the Landscape Institute would be beneficial
