Linear Recruitment are currently working with a large main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Chargehand Foreman on a freelance basis for a major construction scheme in Central Leeds.

This is a hands-on site-based role, with the successful candidate taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site and acting as a key point of contact for the wider project team.

• Opening and closing the site each day.
• Taking responsibility for site security and ensuring the site is ready for the working day.
• Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.
• Ensuring works are carried out safely and in line with the programme.
• Monitoring daily progress and reporting back to the Site Management team.
• Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site organisation.
• Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the project.
• Ensuring site rules, RAMS and health & safety procedures are followed.
• Providing hands-on supervision and leading from the front when required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Chargehand, Foreman or Supervisor on major construction projects.
• Strong site-based experience with the ability to confidently supervise trades and subcontractors.
• A good understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
• Previous experience of opening and closing sites would be advantageous.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for the site when required.
• Relevant CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS.
• A reliable and professional approach.
