Salary: From £25 per hour
Reed FE is seeking a dedicated and supportive English Lecturer to provide cover support at an educational establishment in Leeds.
As an English Lecturer, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons to Further Education students. You will support learners to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and communication skills while creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons.
- Assess, monitor, and track learner progress.
- Support students to achieve their individual learning goals.
- Develop lesson materials and resources in line with curriculum requirements.
- Prepare learners for examinations and assessments.
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback to learners.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to student welfare.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in English or a related subject.
- Previous experience teaching English within a Further Education, Secondary Education, or Adult Learning.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- Current safeguarding training and a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Experience supporting learners with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
