£38,412 per annum - Grade 6 
Bus stations across West Yorkshire  
Full time / Permanent - 37 hours per week 

 
 
Due to internal progression, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a new Bus Station Manager to join our Facilities & Assets team. 
 

In this key operational role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a bus station, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for customers, staff, operators and stakeholders. Acting as a visible and approachable presence on site, you will deliver high standards of customer service while overseeing facilities management, cleaning operations, health and safety compliance and the coordination of resources and partners to support the smooth running of the bus station. You will work closely with bus operators, drivers, tenants, retailers, local authorities and emergency services, building effective relationships to ensure services are delivered efficiently and customers receive a positive experience. 
 

We are looking for a Bus Station Manager with previous experience of working in a busy operational environment who can manage competing priorities and build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. As part of this role, you will have access to a range of training and development opportunities, including qualifications such as First Aid at Work and IOSH, supporting you to develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. You will be primarily based at one bus station, although flexibility is required to provide management cover across other locations when needed to support operational requirements. This also involves occasional weekend working, typically on a rota basis of approximately one weekend in every eight.

The Role 
 
 

• To provide a visible point of contact and a high level of customer services to all users of CA bus stations. 

• Responsible for Bus Station site management, including cleaning, facilities, resources, legislative compliance and coordination of multiple partners, enabling effective operations.  

• To be the responsible officer working weekends on a shift basis (one in eight), the post will also require flexibility in working early/late shifts and bank holidays.

About You  
 

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education, and experience:  
 

• Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites and locations, providing effective operational management and maintaining service standards across complex, high-footfall bus stations located throughout West Yorkshire. 

• Proven line management experience, with the ability to deputise for the Bus Station Services Manager and provide effective leadership in their absence. 

• Demonstrable experience of managing contractors and site-based teams to maintain a safe, compliant and efficient working environment, including monitoring performance against agreed service standards and targets. 

• Knowledge of emergency response, evacuation, fire safety and risk management procedures within a public-facing operational environment. 

• Experience of undertaking risk assessments and developing safe systems of work, including the preparation of method statements. 

• Experience of monitoring progress against plans, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to service enhancements that support organisational objectives.
