Shift Process Technician

Salary – £42,500 (plus benefits)
Hours – 24/7 shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off (12-hour shifts)
Location – Leeds, LS9 0PJ

As a Shift Process Technician at FCC Environment, you will operate process plants for the treatment of industrial wastes. You will play a key role in ensuring waste is treated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working as part of a 24/7 shift team.

What will you be doing?

- Operating, monitoring and managing process and mobile plant for the treatment of industrial liquid and solid wastes
- Safely offloading and treating waste in accordance with procedures, risk assessments and operating requirements
- Planning and prioritising work to ensure efficient waste treatment and regulatory compliance
- Monitoring changing waste streams and treatment processes to optimise performance
- Undertaking chemical and photometric testing of waste materials
- Maintaining accurate operational and testing records
- Monitoring equipment performance and identifying faults or maintenance requirements
- Carrying out routine preventative maintenance activities
- Operating a weighbridge and completing associated waste transfer documentation
- Providing permits to work for internal teams and contractors
- Operating mobile plant equipment for site transfers and vehicle loading/unloading
- Supporting the training and mentoring of new starters when required
- Working closely with colleagues, contractors and drivers to maintain safe and effective site operations

What are we looking for?

- A degree, HNC or HND in Chemistry, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or relevant industry experience
- Experience within the process, chemical or waste treatment industry would be advantageous
- Experience working with computer-operated plant equipment
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small team and independently when required
- Good planning and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Accurate record-keeping abilities
