Credit Controller | Leeds | Up to £33,000 | On-site – flexible start and finish times

We are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team in Leeds, in a role where you can genuinely make a difference.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end credit control position, managing your own workload and taking responsibility for collecting outstanding payments. You’ll be dealing directly with customers, so a professional, understanding and empathetic approach is really important.

The role would suit someone who is confident having conversations about payments but understands that care and empathy can make a real difference when working with customers.

The Role

• Managing your own ledger and carrying out end-to-end credit control
• Contacting customers by telephone and email to collect outstanding payments
• Building positive relationships with customers
• Understanding individual circumstances and working with customers to find appropriate solutions
• Monitoring outstanding balances and taking action to reduce aged debt
• Allocating payments and maintaining accurate account records
• Resolving queries and investigating discrepancies
• Working closely with internal teams to resolve payment issues
• Maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates on outstanding debt

About You

• Has previous credit control experience
• Is confident managing customer conversations around payments
• Has a calm, patient and empathetic approach
• Is comfortable having potentially difficult conversations
• Has strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Can manage their own workload and meet deadlines
• Is confident using Excel and finance systems
• Wants to work in a role where they can make a genuine difference
