PROJECT MANAGER – COMMERCIAL FIT OUT & REFURBISHMENT - #2151985

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in commercial fit-out and refurbishment who enjoys taking overall ownership of projects and building strong relationships with clients?

My client is a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor delivering projects across commercial offices, hospitality venues, bars, restaurants, leisure environments, sports facilities and specialist refurbishment schemes.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager who can manage multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion.

This is a client-facing Project Management role rather than a hands-on Site Management position. You will take overall responsibility for your projects, manage the client relationship and pre-construction process, and oversee delivery through Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team.

Projects are typically valued between £30,000 and £2 million, with Project Managers generally responsible for around 3–4 live projects at any one time.

Projects are predominantly across Yorkshire, although the company is undertaking an increasing number of national schemes, so some travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final handover.

Responsibilities will include:

Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project

Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships

Managing projects from pre-construction through to completion

Managing multiple live projects simultaneously

Developing project programmes and delivery strategies

Coordinating design teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers

Managing procurement and subcontractor packages

Monitoring project budgets and commercial performance

Leading client and project progress meetings

Overseeing Site Managers and project delivery teams

Ensuring projects remain on programme and within budget

Managing project risks and resolving issues as they arise

Producing progress reports for clients and Directors

Managing completion, handover and project close-out

About You

This role would suit an established Project Manager or Contracts Manager who is comfortable taking overall responsibility for several projects and representing the business directly with clients.

You should have:

Proven Project Management experience within commercial fit-out, interiors, refurbishment or design & build

Experience delivering commercial office, hospitality, leisure, sports or similar projects

Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills

Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion

Experience managing several live projects simultaneously

Experience managing Site Managers and subcontractors

Good procurement and commercial experience

Strong programming and organisational skills

Confidence leading meetings with clients, consultants and project teams

The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of project outcomes

A full UK driving licence

SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS would be advantageous.

This position is aimed at an experienced Project Manager or Contracts Manager and is not a step-up opportunity from Site Manager level.
