Our client is a well-established manufacturing business based in West Yorkshire, operating within a complex, fast-paced and commercially focused environment.

They are looking for an HR Adviser to join their HR team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take on a broad generalist role, working closely with managers across the business and providing practical, commercially focused HR support.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of people matters, including employee relations, absence management, recruitment, HR projects, management information and the ongoing implementation of the organisation’s people strategy.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday - 37 ½ hours per week

The Role
As HR Adviser, you will deliver a comprehensive generalist HR service, supporting managers across the business and ensuring people-related matters are managed consistently, professionally and in line with employment legislation, organisational policies and HR best practice.

You will work closely with managers across a varied operational workforce, providing practical advice and guidance on day-to-day HR matters while also contributing to wider HR projects and initiatives.

This is a hands-on role where you will manage a varied workload and build strong relationships across the organisation, supporting effective people management and the delivery of the wider HR strategy with the ability to pivot between complex tasks and caseloads.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management
• Ensure HR activities are conducted in accordance with employment legislation, organisational policies and HR best practice
• Support recruitment and selection activity
• Manage absence processes and support a consistent approach across the organisation
• Provide guidance on family-friendly policies, including maternity, paternity and flexible working
• Prepare and maintain accurate HR documentation, correspondence and employee records
• Support the implementation of the HR strategy and contribute to HR projects and people initiatives
• Produce HR metrics and management information to support business decision-making
• Build strong working relationships with managers and employees across the organisation
• Support the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced generalist HR professional who is confident operating within a busy, commercially focused environment.
You will ideally have:

• Proven experience within a generalist HR role
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Practical experience of managing employee relations cases
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload effectively
• A high level of discretion and professionalism
• CIPD qualification or equivalent practical experience
• Experience within a manufacturing, logistics, engineering or similarly operational environment would be advantageous
• Previous exposure to a unionised environment would be beneficial
• Experience supporting HR projects and the implementation of HR strategy
• Confidence working with HR data, metrics and management information

Previous experience operating at HR Adviser/Officer level, or in a role where you have independently supported managers with a broad range of employee relations matters, would be particularly beneficial.
