Temporary Credit Controller - #2152226

Synergem Recruitment are working with an established Leeds-based business who are looking to appoint an experienced Credit Controller to strengthen their finance team.

This is a hands-on position offering responsibility for your own customer portfolio, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure payments are received promptly and any account queries are resolved efficiently.

The role is initially offered on a temporary ongoing basis, although there is potential for it to develop into a permanent position.

The Role:

• Taking ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts
• Proactively contacting customers regarding overdue balances
• Building effective relationships to support timely payment
• Investigating and resolving invoice and account queries
• Allocating incoming payments and maintaining accurate customer accounts
• Completing account reconciliations where required
• Issuing statements and payment reminders
• Supporting the wider finance function with additional duties when required

About you:

We are looking for someone with previous credit control or accounts receivable experience who is comfortable managing their own workload and communicating confidently with customers.

You should also have:

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A professional but persistent approach to debt collection
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to prioritise a busy workload
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and accounting or finance systems

This would suit an experienced Credit Controller looking for an immediate or short-notice opportunity within a supportive finance team, with the added possibility of securing a permanent role.
