IT Procurement Category Specialist - #2153511

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technology Procurement professional (3 to 5 years corporate private sector) to join a leading organisation as a Category Specialist, supporting commercial activity across its technology supplier landscape.

The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, influencing stakeholders and building strong, trusted relationships across the business and with strategic technology suppliers.

You'll play an important role in supporting sourcing activity, commercial negotiations and supplier management, helping the organisation make informed commercial decisions and deliver value from its technology partnerships.

As a Category Specialist, you'll support and deliver commercial activity across a technology procurement category, working closely with senior stakeholders and Procurement colleagues to develop sourcing approaches aligned with business priorities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the development and delivery of sourcing strategies across complex technology spend.

• Leading and supporting sourcing exercises and negotiating commercial and contractual arrangements with technology suppliers.

• Building effective relationships with senior stakeholders and providing commercial advice and challenge.

• Supporting supplier performance and delivery of sustainable cost benefits.

• Using market insight, data and commercial analysis to inform sourcing and supplier decisions.

• Identifying and managing commercial and supplier risks across the category.

• Commercial acumen and experience across Technology/IT Procurement and category management.

• Experience operating within a regulated environment or another complex, highly governed organisation.

• A strong track record of sourcing complex IT and technology solutions and negotiating high-value contracts.

• Good understanding of the commercial drivers, supplier landscape and market dynamics relevant to Technology procurement.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage at senior levels.

• A pragmatic, analytical approach to problem solving, with the ability to simplify complexity and make clear, data-led commercial decisions.

• The ability to build effective relationships across Procurement, Technology, Risk, Governance and the wider business.
