Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND Support Staff
Location: Leeds
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £90 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is working with a range of mainstream primary schools across Leeds and the surrounding areas who require experienced SEND Support Staff for day-to-day and longer-term positions.

These roles are based within mainstream primary schools rather than specialist SEND settings. You will provide additional support to pupils who require help accessing the curriculum, regulating their emotions, developing their independence and engaging positively with school.

As SEND Support Staff, you could be working 1:1 with an individual pupil, supporting small-group interventions or providing additional classroom support across KS1 and KS2. You will work alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support.

The successful SEND Support Staff will have:

• At least 6 months' experience supporting children with SEND
• Experience within a primary school or similar educational setting
• Knowledge of additional needs including Autism/ASC and ADHD
• Experience providing 1:1 or small-group support
• Confidence supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• A patient, resilient and caring approach to supporting children
