Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Yorkshire – covering Wakefield, Dewsbury, Batley, Huddersfield & Bradford
Contract: Permanent
Travel: Regular travel across the Yorkshire region required

Diamond Search Recruitment is delighted to be supporting our client with the recruitment of an Experienced Psychotherapist to join their expanding Therapeutic Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced therapeutic professional to use their knowledge and expertise to support colleagues and services working with children and young people.

You will play a key role in embedding therapeutic practice across the organisation, providing consultation, assessments, therapeutic guidance and training to help teams achieve positive outcomes for young people.

The Role

As an Experienced Psychotherapist, you will manage your own caseload and work closely with operational colleagues to provide high-quality therapeutic support and consultation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own caseload and providing therapeutic consultation and support to operational teams.

• Providing therapeutic advice and guidance to colleagues to help them support young people throughout their journey.

• Completing assessments and establishing appropriate therapeutic goals and recommendations.

• Developing, writing and regularly reviewing therapeutic goals for children and young people within education settings.

• Supporting the development and delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to staff through the organisation's Therapeutic Academy.

• Contributing to a culture of psychologically informed and trauma-informed practice.

• Working collaboratively with operational, education and therapeutic teams.

• Participating in service development initiatives across the wider organisation.

• Taking part in regular supervision and continuing professional development activities.

• Maintaining high professional standards and working in accordance with relevant ethical and safeguarding requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced therapeutic professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

You may have experience within one or more of the following areas:

• Children's residential care or looked-after children's services.

• Therapeutic residential settings.

• Supported accommodation for young people.

• CAMHS or community mental health services.

• Child and adolescent psychotherapy or psychology.

• Trauma and attachment-focused services.

• Supporting children and young people affected by abuse, neglect, exploitation or disrupted attachments.

• Multi-agency environments involving social care, education, health and safeguarding.

• Staff consultation, reflective practice or psychologically informed training.

• Supporting young people experiencing emotional dysregulation, self-harm, aggression, withdrawal, risk-taking or difficulties engaging with services.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• HCPC registration and/or relevant professional accreditation such as BACP, BABCP or UKCP, as applicable to your professional discipline.

• Experience working with children and young people, or demonstrable transferable therapeutic experience.

• A genuine desire to support services by embedding effective therapeutic practice.

• Experience of teaching, training, consultation and/or supervision.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• The ability to work autonomously while making effective use of individual and peer supervision.

• The ability to role-model behaviours and attitudes aligned with organisational values.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Teams and SharePoint.

• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

• Flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region as required.
