Part 2 Architectural Assistant - #2155544

Recruit Build is working with one of the UK’s leading care home developers to appoint an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join its in-house Architectural Design Team near Leeds.

This is an opportunity for a genuinely well-rounded architectural professional who can combine design flair and strong 3D visualisation skills with technical ability, construction detailing and practical experience of live projects.

This is not a role for someone fresh out of university. We are looking for somebody with at least four years’ practical architectural experience, including meaningful post-Part 2 experience working on live projects within a commercial environment.

The Role

You’ll be involved across the full development process, from assessing potential sites and early feasibility work through planning, technical design and construction delivery.

Working closely with the land, development and construction teams, your responsibilities will include:

• Working with the land team on feasibility studies and potential development sites
• Producing initial scheme layouts and helping assess how sites could be developed
• Developing concept and planning designs
• Producing high-quality 3D architectural visualisations and presentation material
• Preparing planning applications and drawing packages
• Producing detailed technical and construction drawings
• Developing construction details and practical, buildable design solutions
• Working in Revit and developing BIM information
• Coordinating with internal development, technical and construction teams
• Supporting projects through the various stages of design and construction

What We’re Looking For

You will be a Part 2 Architectural Assistant with strong all-round experience and the confidence to work within a fast-paced commercial environment.

You should have:

• Part 2 architectural qualification
• At least four years’ practical architectural experience
• Meaningful experience working on live projects following Part 2
• Strong 3D visualisation skills
• Good technical architectural ability
• Hands-on experience producing construction detailing
• Experience preparing planning and technical drawing packages
• Strong Revit and BIM capability
• Good knowledge of Building Regulations and construction technology
• Experience working closely with consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
• Experience within residential, care, retirement living, hotels, student accommodation or other accommodation-led developments would be beneficial.
