At Bowman Riley, we are looking for a Senior Architect/Project Architect who thrives on creative problem‑solving, enjoys building meaningful client relationships, and brings a spark of personality to every project. This is a role for an architect who wants to influence, inspire, and help shape the future of a growing multidisciplinary practice.

What You Will Be Doing

You will lead the creative journey of multiple projects in guiding early concepts, shaping design narratives, and ensuring our ideas translate into spaces that work brilliantly for the people who use them.

You will be the person that clients look forward to seeing and meeting, someone who listens, will face challenges and offer resolution, and brings fresh thinking to every meeting. You will help teams unlock design solutions, navigate options, and keep projects moving with clarity and enthusiasm.

In the studio, you will be a mentor and motivator sharing ideas, encouraging experimentation, and helping colleagues grow in their design confidence. You will play a key role in raising the creative bar across the team.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from early concept through to completion, championing design quality at every stage
• Shape and refine design proposals, ensuring they are imaginative, functional, and aligned with client aspirations and requirements.
• Guide teams through creative problem‑solving, design reviews, and engage in collaborative workshops
• Represent Bowman Riley with confidence, and integrity during meetings with clients/contractors and whilst attending networking events.
• Support colleagues with day‑to‑day design challenges, helping build a culture of curiosity, excellence and creativity
• Build strong, lasting client relationships that lead to new opportunities and repeat work
• Contribute to the creative identity and future direction of the Leeds studio

About You

You will be ARB‑registered Architect with knowledge and experience in delivering complex projects.  But what will really set you apart will be your enthusiasm in design instinct, your people skills, and your ability to bring ideas to life.

You will bring confidence, collaborative thinking, and natural leadership, with the ability to engage clients, guide teams, and shape a project’s creative direction.

You will be fluent in Revit and other design tools, and you will be at your happiest when sketching, exploring options and offering resolutions, and helping others unlock their potential and best ideas.

A full UK driving licence is preferred.
