Full Stack Engineer - #2157481
The Dev Hub
We're working with a premium Shopify agency that specialises in the projects most agencies wouldn't.
They're looking for a Mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys solving interesting engineering problems and wants to work on projects that go well beyond simply building Shopify stores.
You'll work across Shopify, JavaScript, Node.js, APIs, integrations and cloud technologies, helping build custom solutions for some genuinely interesting eCommerce businesses.
It's a hands-on engineering role where you'll be encouraged to understand the problem you're solving, contribute to technical decisions and build solutions that are scalable and maintainable.
You'll be involved in:
- Building full-stack solutions across frontend, backend and cloud environments
- Developing custom Shopify functionality and integrations
- Working with APIs, third-party systems and complex data flows
- Helping turn client requirements into practical technical solutions
- Contributing to technical and architectural decisions
- Working closely with PM, Design and Data teams
- Troubleshooting and improving existing systems
- Using AI effectively within your development workflow
- Working directly with clients where appropriate, helping understand requirements and explain technical solutions
What we're looking for
- Commercial experience developing Shopify solutions
- Strong JavaScript experience, particularly Node.js and Vanilla JavaScript (ES6+)
- Good understanding of full-stack web development
- Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
- Some experience with serverless/cloud functions
- An understanding of good software engineering principles and writing maintainable code
- Good working knowledge of AI development tools and an interest in how they can improve the way you work
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical people
- Ideally, some experience working in an agency or client-facing environment
Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or enterprise CMS platforms would be a bonus.
The team is based in Leeds and works flexibly. There is an expectation that you'll spend around one day a week in the Leeds office, with the rest of the role worked flexibly.
If you're a Shopify Developer who wants to broaden your engineering experience, work on more complex technical problems and be part of a team doing genuinely interesting work, this could be a good next step.
