You will work alongside experienced engineers, technicians and development planners, supporting a range of residential and commercial projects.

The Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and updating technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Assisting with residential and commercial site layouts
  • Supporting road and highway design
  • Assisting with drainage and infrastructure drawings
  • Preparing plans, sections and other technical drawings
  • Working from surveys and engineering information
  • Supporting engineers and planners with project work
  • Developing your understanding of highway and drainage design
  • Working on projects from initial planning through to detailed design
  • Liaising with colleagues across the wider design team

Candidate Profile

This role would suit someone who has recently completed, or is close to completing, an ONC or HNC in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related subject.

You should have:

  • A good working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • An interest in civil engineering, construction or property development
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • Good communication skills
  • A practical and positive approach to work
  • The ability to work well within a team

Previous industry experience isn't essential. The key requirement is that you have a good working knowledge and confidence working with AutoCAD and are keen to put your skills into practice.

This is an ideal first step for someone looking to establish a career within civil engineering and infrastructure design.

You'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects, working alongside experienced professionals in development planning, highways, roads and drainage.

There is plenty of scope to develop your technical skills and progress within the business as your experience grows.

If you've recently completed an ONC/HNC, are confident using AutoCAD and are looking for an opportunity to start your career, we'd be keen to hear from you.

If this role is of interest, simply apply today.
