We're working with a leading brand within its category that is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to join its growing merchandising team in East Leeds.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has some merchandising experience and is ready to take on more responsibility across trading, stock, planning, reporting and range management.
Working closely with the Merchandiser, Buying and Retail teams, you'll play an important role in making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time - while keeping a close eye on sales, stock and commercial performance.
East Leeds | Fully Office Based
£28,000-£32,000 | Monday to Friday | Free on-site parking
- Supporting the Merchandiser with weekly trading and performance analysis, identifying key sales opportunities and risks.
- Reviewing store and warehouse stock levels and supporting allocation and replenishment activity.
- Monitoring sales, stock, intake and availability, highlighting areas requiring action.
- Supporting in-season trading, helping to implement actions in response to sales performance and changing customer demand.
- Assisting with WSSI and Open-to-Buy processes and maintaining accurate forecasting information.
- Supporting seasonal range planning, option planning and range reviews.
- Assisting with the management and review of linecards, ensuring information is accurate and actions are completed.
- Supporting intake planning and ensuring stock is delivered in line with the agreed critical path.
- Working closely with Buying, Retail, Operations, Logistics and Import Merchandising teams.
- Supporting the planning of allocations, replenishment and stock movements across stores and other sales channels.
- Producing regular reports and analysis using Excel, providing clear insight into trading performance.
- Helping identify trends, opportunities and risks and presenting findings to the wider merchandising team.
- Supporting markdown activity and helping to maximise sales and sell-through.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
We're looking for someone who is commercially aware, analytical and passionate about merchandising, with the confidence to take ownership of their workload and make recommendations.
You may already be working as an Assistant Merchandiser, Junior Merchandiser or Merchandising Administrator and be ready to take the next step.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within retail merchandising.
- A good understanding of retail trading, stock management and merchandising principles.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large amounts of data.
- Good numerical and analytical ability.
- Experience supporting allocations, replenishment, stock reporting or forecasting.
- An understanding of WSSI, OTB, linecards or range planning would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The ability to spot trends, identify risks and recommend solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with different teams.
- A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
- A genuine interest in retail and strong commercial awareness.
