Charles Garth Chartered Surveyors & Property Consultants is looking for an Associate Chartered Building Surveyor to lead and grow our Building Surveying division. You will have the space to put your ideas into practice, develop a team and help shape the direction of the business.
We are a young, friendly consultancy working across residential blocks, commercial property, education and healthcare. We care about delivering high-quality work, building strong client relationships and enjoying being at work.
The Role
This is an opportunity for someone who wants ownership of their work and a meaningful role in growing a business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will build on our existing Building Surveying team, deliver a broad mix of professional and project services, and take a leading role in winning work and developing clients.
You will help decide who we recruit, which services we develop and which markets we pursue. Your contribution will be visible, and you will have a direct voice in the decisions that shape the division and the wider practice.
We welcome applications from established Associates and Senior Chartered Building Surveyors ready to step up. There is strong scope to progress towards Director level, with the possibility of future shareholding or equity participation as the business develops.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and grow the Building Surveying division.
- Build client relationships, win new instructions and generate fees.
- Help shape recruitment, service development, target markets and business growth.
- Deliver a broad range of building surveying services, including surveys, technical due diligence, dilapidations, defect investigations, specifications and contract administration.
- Manage workloads, resources and financial performance while maintaining high standards of delivery.
- Mentor colleagues and create a team people want to be part of.
Your profile
- MRICS with a minimum of three years’ post-chartership experience.
- A strong background across a broad mix of building surveying services.
- Ambition to lead a team and take an active role in building a business.
- Commercial awareness and the drive to generate work and develop lasting client relationships.
- Confidence to bring ideas, take responsibility and see things through.
- Excellent communication, report writing and client management skills.
- An approachable, collaborative style and pride in delivering good work.
