Your new company

This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, values-led accountancy and advisory firm at an important stage of its growth.

The firm has set out a clear strategy to more than double turnover by 2030 through organic growth, attracting outstanding people and selective acquisitions. Underpinning that growth is a broader ambition: to become one of the most respected advisers to privately owned businesses across the North and the wider UK.

With a strong emphasis on high-quality advice, trusted client relationships and professional standards, the business is continuing to invest in its Tax Consultancy practice and is now looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Director / Partner in Leeds.

This is a senior strategic hire with the opportunity to play a significant role in developing the Private Client Tax offering in Scotland and contributing to the wider growth of the firm.

Your new role

As Private Client Tax Director / Partner, you will take a leading role in managing and developing relationships with an established portfolio of clients, while helping to drive the continued growth of the tax practice. You will act as a trusted adviser to clients, ensuring they receive a high-quality, commercially focused service, while providing leadership and direction to colleagues across the team.

  • Acting as Tax Relationship Partner for a portfolio of existing clients.
  • Leading and overseeing the delivery of private client tax advisory work.
  • Developing strong, long-term relationships with clients and becoming a trusted adviser on their tax affairs.
  • Managing the commercial aspects of client engagements, including scope, budgets, fees and delivery.
  • Ensuring effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders throughout assignments.
  • Identifying opportunities to broaden relationships and introduce clients to other relevant services across the firm.
  • Generating new opportunities through your professional network, referrals and wider business development activity.
  • Contributing to individual and team fee targets.
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing colleagues within the tax team.
  • Maintaining the firm's high professional, technical and risk-management standards.
  • Playing an active role in the strategic development and growth of the wider Tax Consultancy practice.

What you'll need to succeed

You will already be an established senior Private Client Tax professional, most likely operating at Director, Partner or equivalent level, with a strong track record of advising private clients and developing trusted relationships.Alongside your technical expertise, you will bring a commercial outlook and a genuine interest in helping to build and develop a successful tax practice.

  • Significant experience within Private Client Tax.
  • Strong client relationship and advisory skills.
  • The credibility to engage with high-value clients and fellow professional advisers.
  • A commercial approach to developing existing relationships and winning new work.
  • Experience of leading, mentoring and developing tax professionals.
  • A strong professional network or the ability to develop one.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and an appetite to influence the future direction of a growing practice.

What you'll get in return

This is more than a traditional Director or Partner appointment. You will be joining a firm with genuine momentum, a clearly defined growth strategy and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the development of its Private Client Tax offering.

You'll have the platform to build your profile, develop client relationships and help shape the future of the practice as the wider firm grows. For an ambitious Private Client Tax Director looking for a route into partnership, or an established Partner attracted by the opportunity to help build something, this represents a particularly exciting opportunity in the Scottish tax market.

If you're looking for a senior tax role where you can combine high-quality client work with leadership, business development and genuine influence over the growth of the practice, I'd be very interested in speaking with you.
