Aire Logic Limited

We are looking for an experienced, proactive HR Specialist to join our small People & Culture team. This varied, hands-on role spans the employee lifecycle, supporting colleagues, improving people processes and contributing to a positive inclusive employee experience.

You will work across generalist HR, employee relations, HR operations and culture, providing practical support in our low-hierarchy environment. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, works collaboratively and is happy to get involved wherever the team needs support.

You will also help us make better use of HR systems, data, technology and AI. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be curious, comfortable learning new systems and keen to explore how AI and automation can improve processes and help us work smarter and more responsibly.

Responsibilities will include:

Generalist HR and People Support:

  • Provide practical, responsive HR support across the employee life cycle, including inductions, employee changes, performance support and leavers.
  • Build trusted relationships with colleagues and teams across the business, supporting people-related matters with empathy, sound judgement and a pragmatic approach.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives across employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, culture and organisational change including supporting working groups such as our EDI committee and Communities of Practice.
  • Support the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures and processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Help develop and deliver training, workshops, guidance and internal communications on HR policies, performance, leadership and other people-related topics.
  • Support day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, correspondence and routine administration, ensuring information is accurate and processes run smoothly.
  • Analyse HR metrics and people data to identify trends, inform decisions and recommend practical improvements.
  • Work collaboratively across the business, sharing knowledge and ideas and contributing flexibly to the wider needs of the People & Culture team.

Employee relations:

  • Manage employee relations matters a part of a broad generalist workload, including performance concerns, sickness and welfare, conduct, grievances and other workplace issues.
  • Support or lead investigations and meetings as appropriate, maintaining impartiality, confidentiality and accurate records.
  • Prepare clear and appropriate documentation, including correspondence, meeting notes, investigation findings and outcome letters.
  • Apply sound judgment, balancing employee wellbeing, fairness, business needs and relevant employment legislation.
  • Work with colleagues and directors to identify practical, proportionate solutions and resolve issues effectively.
  • Recognise when a matter requires additional advice or escalation and seek support where appropriate.

HR technology, systems, data and AI:

  • Help us make effective use of our HRIS and other people-related systems, maintaining accurate and reliable employee information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through better use of technology, automation and AI.
  • Explore and test AI-assisted tools and approaches that could improve efficiency, consistency and the employee experience.
  • Use spreadsheets, HR systems and people data to identify trends, answer questions and support evidence based decisions.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new HR tools, sharing and learning and helping colleagues use them effectively.
  • Develop your own knowledge or emerging HR technology and AI, keeping up with relevant developments and considering how they could benefit our team and the wider business.
  • Use AI and automation thoughtfully, recognising the importance of confidentiality, data protection, accuracy, fairness and human oversight in people-related decisions.

Skills/Attributes/Experience

Essential:

  • Broad HR generalist experience, with the confidence to support a range of people-related matters across the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience handling employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, sickness and performance concerns, with the ability to manage appropriate cases independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy, confidence and sound judgement.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate record and produce clear, well-written documentation.
  • Confidence using digital tools and systems, including spreadsheets, alongside an interest in HRIS, people data and process improvement.
  • A genuine curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn, experiment and develop practical skills in how they can support HR.
  • A proactive, continuous improvement mindset, looking for opportunities to make processes more efficient and improve the employee experience.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, comfortable working independently while contributing to a small, low-hierarchy team and getting involved in day-to-day administration.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, inclusion, fairness and the responsible handling of employee information.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent demonstrable HR experience.
  • Experience working in technology consultancy, professional services or similarly fast-paced environments.
  • Experience using HRIS or other HR technology platforms.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools or automation to improve productivity, processes or the quality of work.
  • Experience working with HR metrics and people data to support decision-making.
  • Experience contributing to HR projects, employee engagement, culture initiatives or organisational change.
  • Familiarity with supporting neurodiverse colleagues or colleagues experiencing mental health challenges.
